Markdown Macro for Confluence
This application makes it quick and simple to support Markdown in Atlassian Confluence. It uses the Flexmark library to convert from Markdown to HTML within Confluence. It can be accessed via:
- Macro Browser
- {markdown} tags
- Via the API using <ac:macro ac:name=”markdown”>Markdown Goes Here</ac:macro>
This allows Markdowns from the inline text, as well as from a URL (such as GitHub or Bitbucket).
We are in 2015, now. Markdown support is ubiquitous on the web. It's everywhere. It's even the default markup language used by Stash. I also know that there are Confluence plugins to add Markdown support, but currently in the market place, only one of those plugins is compatible with the Cloud hosted Confluence. Markdown is easier to read/deal with than confluence's proprietary wiki markup. Markdown is also a standard widely used on the internet, people already know it. I think confluence should offer markdown as an option for the wiki markup language.

Atlassian Confluence Markdown Software
Atlassian Confluence — это web-based корпоративная wiki, написанная на Java и в основном применяющаяся внутри корпораций. Была разработана и продвигается компанией Atlassian Software Systems.
Распространяется под проприетарной лицензией, но бесплатна для некоммерческих организаций и open source проектов.[1][2]
С версии 4.0 не является wiki в полном смысле этого слова, поскольку больше не поддерживает wiki разметку [3].
