For those who have Firefox set as the default browser on their Echo Show devices (that's an Alexa-powered AI assistant speaker with a screen) you'll be automatically redirected to Amazon Silk, Amazon's own web browser. In the U.S., Google's Chrome and Apple's Safari dominate browser options across all types of devices. On Fire TV, the only browser options have always been either Firefox or Silk.
The Firefox app has long been used as a workaround to access YouTube on devices where it's not supported, as Engadget explained, especially after Fire TV removed the YouTube app in 2017. The Google-owned video streamer is back on Fire TV now, but not on the Echo Show. That's where the Silk browser comes in. But Amazon did add the video conferencing app Zoom to the Show on Monday, so there's that.

As of this morning we have shipped Firefox for Fire TV, a browser for discovering and watching web video on the big screen TV for users to install on their Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV stick. The app is now available on 2nd generation or newer devices in the Amazon Appstore for free, aimed at U.S. customers, but available for anyone else that wants to try.
It’s a sign of the strength of Firefox Quantum that Amazon came to us looking for a partner who could bring more of the full web to its customers. The team came together to port, design and release a best-in-class application designed for the 10-foot, leanback experience and that makes watching videos as easy as clicking, searching or entering a URL.
